Chocolate Parcel Cake
I've always found making cakes for men rather daunting. Unless they have a very specific hobby or love, what do you do?
The chocolate theme has been kept all the way through this cake using chocolate cake & buttercream, chocolate regalice for the covering and white and dark chocolate cocoform for the stars, ribbon & bow. It means that the cake can be used as a dessert with cream which is always useful at a large function. For the birthday boy sitting on top I used one of our clay dough grooms, made a present for him to hold and a badge with his age on which I stuck over the flower on his lapel. I then placed our silver icing stars into a plastic pick and pushed it into the middle of the top tier. Lastly and really easily, I sprayed the ribbon and stars with the pearl luster spray which gives a great effect and finish.
