Hexagonal Cake Tins
Choose either aluminium or heavy duty tinplated hexagonal shaped cake tins in a variety of widths. This shape was very popular in the 1950s and 1960s and makes a lovely choice to cook anniversary cakes to add a nostalgic touch whether it's for a single cake or tiered cakes with pillars.
When using a hexagonal cake tin to bake your cake you will need a hexagonal cake board which is a few inches larger. This is because tins are measured differently from cake boards - point to point. You will also need a larger cake box than your board to accommodate your cake. If this is all a bit confusing we have created a really simple free guide you can download here.
